Ellen Chang

Ellen Chang is an abstract expressionist painter who works primarily in watercolors.  She grew up outside Washington, DC, where from childhood she explored the National Gallery and the Hirshhorn Museums. At Wellesley College, she minored in Studio Art/Art History, where she did painting, life drawing, sculpture and photography.  After graduating, she took advanced drawing and painting classes at the Maryland Institute College of Art.  Ellen is half Korean and has been influenced by the vibrant colors of traditional Asian scroll paintings, ceremonial garments and embroidered screens.  She has visited South Korea many times. She lives in Chocorua.
