Gabrielle Watson is a part-time potter making functional forms in high-fire porcelain and white stoneware. She lives in Tamworth, NH. Gabrielle studied ceramics in Mexico and Iowa as a young adult and returned to clay a decade ago to balance her work as an independent non-profit evaluation consultant with creative expression. She often explores surface textures and altered forms that play with the organic and plastic nature of clay. She enjoys white, orange, brown, and golden colors produced by Shino glazes and the way they can interact in unpredictable but often lovely ways with the kiln environment during the firing process, such as carbon trapping.
